To download, just right mouse click on the link “Start Cleaning now…” above and select “Save Target As”.
You should get the file name “screencleaner.swf” in the “Save As” window.
Save to the desired location on your hard drive and enjoy…..!

February 5th, 2008 @ 1:47 am
Can anyone get me a mac version of the that screensaver or a video file so I can put it on my phone?!
February 23rd, 2008 @ 12:51 pm
There’s a new Mac version out. See the link in the updated section of the article.
March 13th, 2008 @ 3:30 pm
Both my sister and I downloaded the Mac version on to our laptops and neither of us could open it, but, it cleaned off the desktops of both our computers really well. You might want to look at your Mac version again.
May 4th, 2008 @ 1:28 pm
I experienced the same thing. When I downloaded the Mac version that had the dog in the lower left corner of the four available choices (I don’t know what kind of dog it was), I got a Stuffit file on my Desktop. I forgot the name of that Stuffit file, but it was something like “OCX3.” The contents of that Stuffit file were already unpacked on my Desktop, I also observed.
Not knowing what the applet expected of me, or that the Stuffit file already had unpacked its contents, I double-clicked the Stuffit file. I got a second instance of “OCX3″ (or whatever it was called). The screen saver/cleaner did not run, so I put the OCX3 file and its parent Stuffit file in the Trash. I then emptied the Trash.
Then I noticed a new folder created off of my home folder called “ocx.screensave” or something like that. Clearly it was related to whatever the downloaded Stuffit file originally was called. So I deleted that new folder too and once more emptied my Trash.
The next time I wanted to visit my Desktop I discovered it was gone — folder *and* contents! What undoubtedly happened was that the script associated with this particular download *renamed* my Desktop folder to whatever the screensaver/cleaner download was called. Thus when I deleted that folder, I really was deleting my Desktop!
Lacking a folder called Desktop attached to my home directory, I created a new Desktop folder attached there. But of course I never would be able to recover the old contents of the old Desktop folder because they were in the “ocx.screensave” folder that I had deleted … and I could not recover from the Trash because I had emptied it.
Bad dog! Bad dog! Oh, I forgot: There are no bad dogs, just bad owners. Bad owner! Bad owner! I don’t know whether the person who created the script for downloading the “ocx.screensave” was malicious (hates Macs?) or inept (script kiddie?), but the effect was the same: Desktop gone.
So, in hindsight, I had to relearn a lesson that I thought I learned long ago: Easy does it when it comes to emptying my Trash. I just might need to retrieve some of it later.
February 5th, 2008 @ 8:20 am
Same as everyone else – tried every which way to download the pug to screensaver. How is it done?
February 5th, 2008 @ 10:05 am
There’s an updated link in the article above (in bold) where you can download the screensaver version. (currently Windows only) Once you click on the download link, just go down to the bottom of the page and wait for it to finish loading the file info. Then just click on link next to “Save file to your PC”.
It’s working as of Feb 5 10:00 EST, but if it goes down, I’ll post a new link.
February 5th, 2008 @ 11:13 am

February 7th, 2008 @ 1:26 am
For Mac Users, you can use the video file, with the wonderful FREEWARE screensaver that allows you to play Quicktime movies as screensavers. The program is called Save Hollywood, and the link is http://s.sudre.free.fr/Software/SaveHollywood.html
Thank you for this. I LOVE this!!!
February 7th, 2008 @ 4:30 am
If you change the extension .swf into .exe then find where the other screensavers are.
I think its Local drive > Windows
Put it in there and it should be selectable when you change screensaver

February 7th, 2008 @ 9:22 am
The first time I saw this as a screen saver it was from the Must Love Dogs movie site. I used to work for TW so we all had this on our screens for quite a while. They have other dogs as well doing this as screensavers in the download section of the website. Check them out at http://www2.warnerbros.com/mustlovedogs/downloads.html.
February 7th, 2008 @ 9:37 am
Sorry, make sure not to put a ‘.’ at the end of the link to see all the dog licking screen savers
http://www2.warnerbros.com/mustlovedogs/downloads.html
February 7th, 2008 @ 10:13 am
I clicked on the start cleaning and when it downloaded and said done nothing happened what do I need to do?
February 7th, 2008 @ 12:19 pm
Wonderful! It really should be a screensaver! I wouldn’t mind a kitty version or cleaner fish sucking the gook off of the computer screen. Mine gets really dusty from the frequent dust storms here in Kuwait.
February 7th, 2008 @ 2:27 pm
Why on earth does everyone think this ugly little thing is cute!? I watch this and it just makes me say ‘Yeughhhhhk’!
February 7th, 2008 @ 7:33 pm

February 8th, 2008 @ 6:24 pm
this dog did a magnificent job.
it turns out, i was just painting my office room, and i got little splatters of paint on my screen. not only that, but when i get frusterated, it is not uncommon for me to toss my drinks (coffee, soda, etc.) on my monitor. as i eat potato chips like an animal, tiny crumbs adhere to the computer surface. i often have little handprints and grease stains to try to look through. you can only imagine the condition of my monitor. so you see, it was an ideal day for me to come across this site.
is this just a free trial, or is it always free?
i think i need this on a regular basis.
thank you, little dog.
February 8th, 2008 @ 9:28 pm

Is there any way this can be made into a screensaver for Macintosh too???? I would really appreciate it!
March 5th, 2008 @ 3:49 pm
Thanks for the Mac versions there is only one problem – they won’t install! I keep getting an message saying that error number 5000 occured and they do not install.
I really want this screen saver! My pug loves watching the video. Is there a fix for this?
February 12th, 2008 @ 3:30 pm
LOL I downloaded the pug licking the window….my dog went nuts, thought he was real. He continues to bark at the pooch Funny…great entertainment. Thanks!!!
February 12th, 2008 @ 4:22 pm
I think this is great!! You need to add snoring sounds to it!! I’ve downloaded the screensaver version but can’t get it to run as a screensaver. What am I doing wrong?
February 12th, 2008 @ 10:16 pm
Trish: I’m having a similar problem: I download the screensaver then it tells me I need to download a certain component from adobe and refers to the site.. I’ve downloaded adobe about 15x and it’s still not working!!!!
I really want this screensaver.. anyone know what’s up?
February 23rd, 2008 @ 1:05 pm
Try download the new screen savers from the link in the article. Let me know if you’re still having trouble.
February 13th, 2008 @ 5:56 pm

February 13th, 2008 @ 11:20 pm
You can also find a Cat screensaver file for download on:
http://www.Beverlytoday.com/wow.html
Just look under the Cat Flash on the site for the link for the Screensaver.
It is clean, no ads, no virus’s guarenteed, I converted it myself.
It will cover your complete screen with a Cat linking away! It is cool looking to see!

February 14th, 2008 @ 1:14 am
Hi… about the component problem. We apologize for the problems. Download the latest version of InstantStorm (1.5.2) and re-compile the screensaver using the downloadable SWF file. It should be working. Adobe has changed the Flash Player component lately and the screensavers compiled using the previous InstantStorm release have trouble detecting the latest Flash Player (9,0,115,0) in Windows Vista.
If you don’t feel like re-compiling the screensaver, download the following fix and save it to your WINDOWS directory (confirm file overwriting). This fix should solve the problems as well.
February 14th, 2008 @ 1:18 am
Sorry, I forgot to link to that fix:
